The AL NAJJAR family has been making authentic Aleppo Soap since 1895 in keeping with ancestral artisanal know-how. Aleppo Soap was the first hard soap and has been manufactured for centuries. It is the ancestor of Marseille soap. This know-how is passed down from generation to generation in the family’s soap factory.

Each year from late November to late March, production of the world’s first hard soap starts over again following an unchanged process. The soaps then dry for at least nine months. During this period, the soaps oxidize on the surface and take on a yellow/beige color, whilst the heart of the soap retains the green color of the oils that make it.

Najel's Aleppo Soap is made from virgin olive oil and bay laurel oil. Saponified olive oil is a powerful cleanser which nourishes, protects and softens skin. Bay laurel oil is known for its disinfectant and regenerative properties. The higher its concentration, the more the soap soothes irritated or problem skin (psoriasis, eczema, acne, dermatosis).

Made from traditional 200g Aleppo Soaps, this Najel compressed soap combines the beneficial properties of Aleppo Soap with those of red clay. This fine-textured, natural clay soil forms deep underground in temperate zones. Clay has been known for its cosmetic and therapeutic qualities for thousands of years and was already used in prehistoric times.

The high level of oxidation of this soil gives the clay its red color but its color depends also on its physico-chemical composition: it can be green, white, pink or even yellow. Red clay has a host of incredible and often little-known qualities that Najel wants to share with you. Thanks to its high absorbency, red clay cleans pores and gets rid of impurities. It remineralizes the epidermis and soothes contusions, bruises and muscular pains.
It is a skin glow care treatment that restores brightness to a dull complexion and reduces redness.
