Recommended for all types of linen, Najel liquid Aleppo liquid detergent may be used for machine or hand washing. See the packaging or usage chart below for recommended doses.

Useful tip: Use an economical, ecological product instead of a fabric conditioner. Add a small glass of white vinegar to your machine. It softens your wash and is odourless. White vinegar also helps prevent the build-up of limescale in your washing machine. However, if you want to add more scent to your clothes and linen, add a few drops of an essential oil with the white vinegar.

To eliminate difficult stains, first rub your linen with stain-removing Aleppo soap, leave for ten minutes then put it in your washing machine on your usual programme.

Eco-friendly ideas:

- Sort your linen according to how dirty it is then add the appropriate measure of washing product.
- Don’t put in too much product, read the recommendations carefully.
- Find out how hard the water is.
- Use less product when there is less linen, or if it isn’t very dirty.
- Avoid pre-washing and do full washes at low temperature: a 40° C wash consumes 3 times less than a 90°C cycle.
- Choose a front-loading washing machine

Before the first soap-based washing powders appeared in the late 19th Century, washing powders were made from wood ash.

Research into detergents was then accelerated due to the shortage of animal and vegetable fats and the need for armies to clean their uniforms in cold, chalky water.

Washing liquid made its appearance in 1982. It offered better solubility than washing powder especially at low temperatures and its almost immediate conversion to solution meant that it started to act from the beginning of the washing cycle, which made it more suitable for short washing cycles.

But since the 1930s, soap in washing powder has been replaced by surfactants, to the detriment of the environment, for financial reasons and following the increase in consumption of these products.

Conventional washing powders thus contain components from the petrochemical industry and often allergens such as bleaching agents, softeners, colorants and scents. Also, some of the anti-limescale agents are responsible for causing eutrophisation, which is the proliferation of green algae in aquatic environments: the oxygen content in the water is reduced, causing fish, crustaceans, insects and plants to disappear.

For all these reasons, Najel has developed a complete range of washing and cleaning products based on Aleppo soap which are kinder to the environment.
