The sea sponge is a living organism from the depths of the Mediterranean Sea. After several years’ growth, the NAJEL sea sponge is gathered by hand by divers in protected areas reserved for fishing.
This natural sponge is more absorbent and creates more lather than most synthetic sponges. Very supple, it gives the skin a wonderful sensation of softness.
It may be used for daily washing of all types of skin and is even recommended for delicate skin: ideal for washing your baby.

The NAJEL sea sponge is a 100 % natural living organism that comes from the depths of the Mediterranean. After several years of growth (1 to 2 cm per year), it is gathered by hand by divers working in protected areas set aside for fishing. Sea sponges have been used since Antiquity on the Greek islands, particularly on Kalymnos, since known as "the sea sponge fishermen’s island".
At the time, apart from its use for washing, it could be used as padding for armour. It was also used to carry water, wine and honey to the mouths of the sick and to wash and treat injuries.
